I use recycled wood which makes one of these houses too heavy to ship. You can contact me for a special order. The Mourning Doves need a floor space in their nest box of at least 8" x 8" and up to 10" x 12". The opening should be a rectangle approximately 3 to 4" wide by 4 to 5" high. A ledge on the front makes it easier for landing. House heigth is 8 to 10" and mounted 5 - 8 Ft off the ground. You can put the nest house on a post with semi protection below a tree or a shed. You can also mount the house on the side of a shed under an eave.
